Skeena Rideshare aims to revolutionize transportation in the Skeena region as it offers a convenient, safe, affordable, and environmentally sustainable ridesharing platform. Skeena rideshare connects riders with reliable and trusted drivers in the Skeena/Terrace region. As the business founder, I have several years of experience in running a similar side hustle back home and have over five years of experience in business management, fleet management, and customer service. Our target market includes college students, professionals, and commuters who seek flexible and affordable transportation solutions.

The Skeena Rideshare industry has limited options, primarily the only cab service and public transit. We aim to fill this gap by providing on-demand rides focusing on reliability, safety, and convenience for our customers. Skeena Rideshare uses a website for booking and provides a driver profile on its webpage to ensure customers are familiar with their driver before booking a ride. The webpage also highlights a ‘What to Expect during your Ride” section which outlines the process from pick up, safety measures implemented, and the drop-off. Skeena Rideshare also offers a customer support phone line for booking and sharing feedback, especially for older, less tech-savvy customers.

Competitors such as Kalum Cabs and Terrace Public Transit operate in the region but lack the personalized approach for our beloved community. This is what sets Skeena Rideshare apart from others. The current Skeena Rideshare Program is focused on demographic groups of professional adults, college students, and elderly folks within the Skeena Region. However, we aim to expand the business in the next year or two and thus would be able to accommodate additional demographic groups through our service. Some high-level goals of Skeena Rideshare include:

  • Launch the Skeena Rideshare Platform within 4 months
  • Engage and sign customers through networking
  • Complete at least 12-16 rides (Terrace/Thornhill combined) within the first 3 months
  • Recruit additional drivers and expand the service area in the second year of business

There is capital that is provided to me by my family to launch my business and invest in equipment purchases, including the vehicle, communication tools (phones/headsets), and navigation equipment. However, additional funding is required to:

  • Develop and optimize the Skeena ridesharing platform
  • Marketing and promotional activities to reach users and the community at large
  • Expand service coverage
  • Recruit new drivers and invest in new driver training programs

As Skeena Rideshare will evolve in the next year or a couple of years, there are significant opportunities for growth for the rideshare service, including an expansion of the service area beyond Terrace/Thornhill, possibly Kitimat! Other opportunities may include introducing features like eco-friendly vehicle options, partnering with local businesses for promotional opportunities, or providing business pick & drop services. With the support of my Parents and Investors, we will expand our business, enhance operations, and make a lasting impact by providing excellent customer service to the Skeena community. Let’s work together in bringing our motto to life, i.e. “Connecting Communities, One Ride at a Time: Experience the Convenience, Safety, and Affordability of Skeena Rideshare Today!”
